Each Spring, all 4th and 5th graders are invited to attend SuperStart which is a two-day event put on by Christ In Youth (CIY) that is specifically for preteens. SuperStart! is a high-energy weekend event in which preteens can learn and grow in their relationships with friends, leaders and, most importantly, God. You can expect the weekend to be filled with Biblical teaching, worship, enthusiasm, small group opportunities and off-site recreation.  Click here to check out the SuperStart website.  Click here to view video from a previous conference.   

This year SuperStart! will be setting the table – literally – with both food and fun. SuperStart’s cast of characters will interact with food experts like Malorie the Food Stylist and Chef Baysil as they explore the ways in which God has been generous, and how that shows us what we can be generous with and why generosity is such a big deal to God.
Our group will travel to the Indianapolis, IN. area to attend this conference (see below for additional details).  Background checks are taken for all adult sponsors who participate.  This is a great opportunity for pre-teens to connect with one another, and get excited about their relationship with Jesus with about 1,000 other pre-teens!  The cost is $110 which includes the hotel, registration fee, transportation, two meals, and a trip to X-Site for a game of laser tag and pizzaRegister for the 2017 conference here by Tuesday, January 17.

As always, your child is welcome to invite friends to come along with them! We will be meeting at the Discovery offices on Friday, March 3rd at 9:30 a.m. and returning on Saturday night the 4th around 10:00 pm.  Yes, this is an overnight trip!  The cost of your child’s trip includes registration fee, hotel, gas expense and laser tag games, breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

We will be driving Discovery’s 15 passenger van.  Sponsors will drive additional vehicles as needed according to how many children attend. 

There will be one sponsor for every four children.  I (Stacie) will be attending along with other teachers from the SHIFT class and other parents.  Additional sponsors will be needed according to the number of children attending.   If you are interested in being a sponsor, please let me know.  The cost for sponsors to attend is $50 plus three meals.

Each room will hold 1 adult sponsor, along with  2-4 children.  Each sponsor will have his own bed and the children will share a queen bed or sleep in a sleeping bag. 

Your child will need to have enough money with them to pay for three meals:  Lunch and dinner on Friday and dinner on Saturday.  The hotel provides a free continental breakfast for Saturday morning.  Lunch on Saturday is included in your cost.

On Saturday from 10:00-1:00 we have free time to spend with our group.  We will be going to X-Site for some great games of laser tag and video games!   This cost is included in your registration fee. A pizza lunch and 8 tokens for games will be given to each child at X-Site.
